Hotel Laguna Istra is located in the popular Zelena Laguna Bay with its beautiful natural beaches, pine forests, a lovely seafront promenade, scenic views over the bay and romantic sunsets. The bay is home to several hotels and offers a variety of (water) sports activities, such as tennis, mini golf, volleyball, football, water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and scuba diving. There are many restaurants, bars, shops and pools, making it a perfect holiday destination for families but also for sports and nature lovers and those who just wish to relax and enjoy the sun and the sea. The crystal clear sea and the clean beaches have earned the Zelena Laguna Bay the Blue Flag, an international award for top quality beaches.

With the beach just 200m from the hotel, an outdoor fresh water swimming pool and children’s pool and lovely gardens, it is a great place to unwind while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Another popular hotel in the Zelena Laguna Bay is Hotel Laguna Gran Vista, which offers an equally stunning view over the bay and the beautiful turquoise sea. Hotel Laguna Istra is situated just 5km south from the charming historical town of Porec. Porec has a rich history that dates back to Roman times and you can still see the influence from ancient times in the streets of Porec today. The highlight of the town is the Basilica of St Euphrasius, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with beautiful mosaics and a stunning view over the town and the sea from its bell tower. During the summer season there is a special boat and a bus that travel from the Zelena Laguna Bay to Porec each hour and a tourist train that runs every 30min.

Rooms and facilities at Hotel Laguna Istra:

The hotel has 192 rooms with air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, a basic bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. A fridge is available at an additional charge. Rooms are either sea side or park side. Not all rooms have a balcony. Suites with a bedroom and living room are also available. The air conditioned restaurant offers a breakfast and dinner buffet. Guests who book half board are offered unlimited free drinks with dinner. The hotel has a bar and a TV room, there is Wi-Fi internet access in the reception area (additional charge), an exchange office and a safe can be rented at the reception. Surveillance car parking is also available at an additional charge. Hotel Laguna Istra has an outdoor fresh water pool with sun beds and a special children’s pool. A children’s playground can be found nearby. In the nearby Hotel Plavi children can enjoy the mini club and mini disco. For the adults there are morning gym sessions, aqua aerobics and sports tournaments. In the evening you can enjoy a drink while listening to live music or you can visit the nearby Hotel Plavi for a show. The hotel is not suitable for less mobile people due to the many steps.

Porec Croatia – Holidays in Porec

Porec is among the absolute top holiday destinations in Croatia. The city is situated at the west coast of the Istria peninsula. During summer months, population of the city increases dramatically; all the additional people are housed in hotels, private apartments or in some of the very large campsites which can be found by Porec. The centre of thr town is the old town peninsula, which is a must see. The top sight in the old town is the Euphrasian Basilica which is a UNESCO world heritage site. In general, the old town has a very nice historical architecture which makes the place quite charming.

In terms of food there are plenty of options in and around the old town. The food offer is mainly a typical mixture of local and Italian food. Of course there are also lots of fish on the menu, personally I find the restaurants on the main square in front of the old town a bit too expensive (compared to quality), I prefer one of the smaller restaurants in the old town.

As mentioned there is a large selection of accommodation in Porec. In the old town mainly private apartments can be found, but as the offer is limited it can be difficult to find something if you do not book early. Along the coast south of Porec there is a large number of hotels in various categories to choose between. The hotel offer in Porec also includes all-inclusive hotels. North of Porec there are several very large Campsites offering a full range of facilities.
